In today’s fast-paced world, we often struggle to keep up with our busy schedules. Thankfully, modern technology has made it easier to stay organized and manage our time effectively.
One such tool that has become an essential part of our daily routine is email. However, with so many emails flooding our inbox daily, keeping track of everything can be overwhelming. This is where scheduling emails comes in handy.
In this article, we will explore how to schedule an email in Gmail, one of the world’s most widely used email services.
How To Schedule An Email In Gmail (Website)
Most people prefer to use Gmail on their desktops through a web browser. Following the steps below will schedule an email in Gmail’s website version.
Step 1 – Open Gmail Through A Web Browser
The easiest way to access Gmail through your web browser is to use Google Chrome.
Using Google Chrome, open Chrome and select the Gmail button at the top right of your screen (this is just one of many Chrome Shortcuts that can speed up your workflow, which is why I use it).
If you are not using Chrome, open your web browser and type www.gmail.com into your browser’s URL bar.
Step 2 – Log Into Your Gmail Account
Log into your Gmail account using your username and password. If you don’t yet have a registered account, this Google guide will show you how to create a Gmail account.
Step 3 – Compose Your Email
Once logged into your Gmail account, start writing your email by clicking on the compose button at the top left of your screen.
A new mail window will open on the bottom right of your screen. Specify who your intended mail recipient is and what the subject of your email is, write the body content of your email and attach any necessary files to your email.
Step 4 – Schedule Your Email
Once you have composed your email and are satisfied with the contents of your email, click on the drop-down arrow located on the right-hand side of the “Send” button. Clicking on this arrow will reveal the “Schedule send” option. Click on “Schedule send.”
Step 5 – Pick A Time And Date
You need to specify when you would like your email delivered. The default options are “Tomorrow morning,” “This afternoon,” and “Monday morning .” If none of these choices apply to you, you can select “Pick date & time.”
Selecting “Pick date & time” will open a menu allowing you to specify the exact date and time your email will be sent.
Step 6 – Click Send
Once satisfied with the time and date, click the “Schedule send” button. This option will schedule your email to be sent at a future time and date.
Note: You cannot “back-date” emails to appear to have been sent on a previous date using the “Schedule send” function.
